Rangers All-Star third baseman Michael Young is out for at least two weeks because of a strained left hamstring.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Wednesday that Young could miss "a couple" weeks or more.

Young got hurt running out a grounder Tuesday, pulling up after crossing the first base for the final out of the third inning of the Rangers' 5-2 win over Tornoto. He had an MRI on Wednesday, and Daniels said he's getting a blood platelet injection today to accelerate the healing process.

Young, the longest-tenured Rangers player, is in his ninth full season and has never reached the playoffs. Heading into Tuesday's games, Young was sixth in the American League with a .322 batting average.
