TCU Linebacker is Big 12 Player Of The Week

The Big 12 Conference has announced TCU linebacker Ty Summers as its Defensive Player of the Week.

Summers led TCU with 16 tackles, including 1 1/2 for loss, in Saturday's 41-20 victory over Iowa State. It was the second-best game of his career, surpassed only by his 23 stops in last year's win over Baylor. That effort saw him recognized as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Summers' 16 tackles versus Iowa State tied for the 11th-best game in 16 seasons under head coach Gary Patterson. Summers posted his fifth double-figure tackle game in the last nine contests.

A sophomore from San Antonio, Summers leads the Big 12 with 26 stops on the season.
