Fans of Texas Gov. Rick Perry in Washington are quietly lobbying a group of influential political operatives to support a Perry run for the Republican presidential nomination.

The supporters launched a website, TimeForPerry.com, this week but initially shared news of the launch only with a group of uncommitted fundraisers and campaign operatives in Washington and New Hampshire.

The site, which follows similar draft efforts in places like California and Iowa, features a video of the Texas governor speaking to a cheering crowd and an original song.

The group has also started a Facebook fan page.

Perry has offered strong signals he may enter the race.
