Elizabeth Edwards pushed aside the tabloid frenzy surrounding her marriage to philandering Sen. John Edwards this weekend to open a furniture store in North Carolina, celebrating the store's first day as reports buzzed that the senator fathered his ex-mistress's child.

Edwards opened a store called Red Window in Chapel Hill, N.C., where she and husband John Edwards share their family home. The store will be similar to an establishment Edwards' mother runs in Japan, called The Red Door.

John Edwards, who confessed last year that he'd cheated on his cancer-stricken wife with campaign videographer Rielle Hunter, attended the opening, even as reports swirled that a DNA test could be coming that would prove Edwards fathered Hunter's baby.

Edwards has said she's attempting to forgive her husband's dalliances -- but that it's been a difficult road.

"We just have a family to run and now a business to run as well, so we just keep our eye on that ball and try to ignore what supermarket tabloids have to say," she told ABC News.
