    A Dallas police officer was not injured after being assaulted while on duty downtown Monday afternoon.

    A Dallas police officer was not injured after being assaulted while on duty.

    Officials said a woman attacked the officer, who was on traffic patrol, Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Routh Street in downtown Dallas.

    When the officer stopped the woman, she became belligerent and hit the officer with her cell phone.

    The suspect is in custody.

    No word yet on what caused the incident.
