Three Injured in Frisco Officer-Involved Crash

A crash in Frisco involving a police cruiser sent three people, including a McKinney police officer, to the hospital Thursday morning.

Police said a McKinney officer was responding to a domestic violence call and was traveling southbound on Custer Trail, just south of El Dorado Parkway in Frisco, when the driver of a Honda pulled out in front of the officer and was struck.

The officer driving the cruiser and the two people in the Honda were all hospitalized.

Officials originally said the officer was airlifted to a McKinney hospital, though mid-morning Thursday officials said he had been hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

The conditions of the two injured in the Honda are not yet known.

Witnesses said the police cruiser did have its lights on, but crash investigators said they would not be able to confirm that detail until they've seen the on-board video from the police car.
