Dallas police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed three women and injured a 2-year-old boy shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Grove.

The crash happened when a car driven by 26-year-old Araceli Romero was hit while making a left turn onto Dunlap Drive from northbound North Prairie Creek Road.

A car coming southbound on Prairie Creek struck her vehicle and then left the scene of the crash.

Inside of Romero's car was 28-year-old Judith Romero and 45-year-old Regina Romero.  All three of the women died in the crash.

The child in the car was seriously injured and was transported to Children's Hospital.

Roberto Vargas, 18, said he and a friend tended to the baby in the back seat.

"I asked for a knife to cut off the [seat] belt to take the baby out," Vargas said. "I took off my shirt to stop the bleeding; and I waited for the firefighters to get here."

Vargas also said one of the drivers ran from the scene before officers arrived. Other witnesseses said police found the driver nearby.
