Texas Man's Massive Beer Can Collection

A man in Texas has turned his old barn into a museum of beer cans of all shapes, ages and sizes.

Patrick Costigan of Buda has a hobby that began years ago.

"Originally cleaning up after my folks [they] had a party and noticing how many beer cans there were and setting them up on this shelf in the patio and it started growing," Costigan said.

Costigan's hobby has since grown into tens of thousands of cans that he proudly displays on shelves in his barn.

"I just like the way they look, the different labels and everything," he said.

And he found most of his collection on Craigslist.

"He's a Craigslist junky, yeah," Costigan's wife, Lisa, said.

His collection really grew approximately five years ago. Costigan hit the jackpot when he saw that someone listed 28,000 beer cans for sale on the website.

"I couldn't believe it," Lisa said. "First of all, he had to go buy a trailer to get the cans."

Costigan won't reveal how much that collection cost him, but said he bought it from an older man in Oklahoma.

"The family was cleaning out his house," said Costigan.

Costigan has beer cans that date back to the 1930s.
