A man walking on rail tracks was fatally struck by a Trinity Railway Express train Monday night in Dallas, DART police said.
The westbound train was approaching Medical/Market Center Station at about 7:15 p.m. when it struck the 54-year-old man as he walked on the rail right of way, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Mark Ball, DART spokesman, said the train's operator blew the horn and applied the emergency brakes, but couldn't stop on time.
No one on board the TRE was injured.
