A police chase early Monday morning ended in Allen after going through six cities.
The chase started at about 4:15 a.m. when Dallas County deputies were checking on the welfare of a man inside a on Interstate 35E near Medical District Drive. Police said as they approached the car the man drove off.
Deputies pursued the man who drove northbound on I-35E into Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Lewisville, Plano and Allen. Dispatchers said he drove in excess of 100 mph at times.
The man drove northbound along the Sam Rayburn Tollway and eventually exited on Exchange Parkway. According to deputies, the man drove eastbound in the westbound lanes of Ridgeview Drive and eventually ran off the road and into a field on the 1600 block of Ridgeview Drive.
The man jumped out of the car and ran, but deputies were able to catch him and take him into custody.
The man, whose name has not yet been releaed, faces several charges including evading arrest.
