Missing Fort Worth Boy Found

After a short search, a boy reported missing early Tuesday morning was found safe by Fort Worth police officers.

Fort Worth police found Derrick Dewayne Skelton at a friend's house at about 9 a.m.

Earlier in the morning, police had asked for the public's help in finding the boy after he was last seen at about 6 p.m. Monday on the 2700 block of Belzise Terrace in southeast Fort Worth.

The boy's grandfather told police Skelton was supposed to be with his older sister, but she never picked him up.

Police said Skelton did have a bag that could have been used to carry supplies for an overnight stay. Family members said Skelton does not have a history of running away from home.
