Plane Ends Up Nose-Down at McKinney Airport

No injuries were reported after a small plane made a hard landing and ended nose-down on a runway at McKinney National Airport Monday afternoon, officials say.

Emergency crews responded to the airport at about 3:45 p.m. as a precaution. The hard landing was caused by a strong cross-wind, officials said.

Airport Executive Director Ken Wiegand said there was damage to the plane's engine after the hard landing, but otherwise the damage to the plane was considered minimal.

Two people were inside the plane at the time of the landing.

The plane was eventually righted and led to a hangar at the airport.
