Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Loop 12 in Dallas

A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a vehicle early Saturday on Loop 12 in Southeast Dallas.

Police were called at about 12:25 p.m. to the 6400 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, near the Trinity River Audubon Center, where they said a vehicle traveling eastbound in the right lane struck a man who was crossing the road from the north to south side, into the eastbound lanes.

The 56-year-old pedestrian, whose identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver remained at the scene to speak with officers.
