83-Year-Old Struck, Killed on Arlington Frontage Road

Arlington police say an 83-year-old man walking on a highway frontage road was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the scene in the 5800 block of U.S. Highway 287 at about 4 a.m. Sunday.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man, identified as Billy Kimbrough, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle, police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said in a written statement.

The driver of the vehicle called 911 and stopped to help the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Richard said.

The incident remains under investigation. Police did not release any information whether or not charges would be filed.
