An off-duty police officer was severely beaten when he tried to break up a fight involving about 30 people outside a tattoo shop in north Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police said Officer Randy Molina was beaten and kicked in the head several times by at least three or four people just after 4:30 a.m.

Molina and two other off-duty police officers were attempting to break up a fight at a private party, police said. Investigators said some of the people in the brawl at Knuckle Up Tattoos were armed with knives, and gunshots were also heard.

Molina suffered a broken nose and possible concussion. He was transported to Harris Hospital, where he was later released.

Police have arrested three people in connection with the fight and are looking for another person.
