North Texas Youth Football Team Needs Help Getting to National Championship

Fresh off a state championship victory, a youth football team from Frisco is scrambling to find ways to pay for a trip to Southern California to compete for a national championship.

The North Texas Cowboys, an age 10-and-under select team, qualified for the Snoop Dogg Youth Football League national championship playoffs.

The nationals are scheduled to begin next weekend.

"Now that we're here, we're scrambling," North Texas Cowboys coach John Carroll said. "Without the help, we probably won't make it to California."

The Cowboys have 18 players, half of whom can't afford the cost of the trip. The team is made up of kids from several cities in North Texas, including some who are from low-income families.

"I don't have a kid on the team, but I consider each and everyone of them my kid," Carroll said. "Now that we've won state, we just need a little help (getting to nationals)."

The Cowboys are hoping to raise $4,000. If you would like to contribute, visit the team's GoFundMe page.
