Man Walks Into Elementary School With Pocketknife: Police

A Denton school was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a man showed up on campus with a knife, police say.

According to Denton Police Departmen Spokesperson Ryan Grelle, Paul Jackson walked into the front office of Tomas Rivera Elementary at about 9:45 a.m.

Grelle said Jackson had a pocketknife in his hand, was sweating and acting paranoid.

Jackson did not gain access beyond the front office of the school and did not threaten to harm anyone.

School administrators placed the school on a temporary lockdown during the incident as a precaution.

Police arrived and arrested Jackson for public intoxication. Officers said they will continue to investigate and that additional charges could be filed at a later time.
