A contract worker cutting weeds has died after a semitrailer veered off the road and hit him in Texas City.
According to the Texas City Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday morning on Texas State Highway 146. Police say the man was working along the roadway when the 18-wheeler left the road, struck him and ended up in a ditch.
Authorities say the man died at the scene.
An investigation into what caused the incident is ongoing.
