A man was found dead in a home hours after police said he barricaded himself inside and shot a woman.

Late Saturday, Dallas police identified the man as 39-year-old Richard Calderon.  Officers said he was found inside the bedroom of a home in the 600 block of Belmont Avenue. Dallas SWAT officers said he was holding a weapon when found.

On Saturday morning the DPD responded to a shots fired call at the Dallas home. When rescue units arrived to the location a woman was shot by Calderon as she attempted to escape from the home, said Geron on Twitter.

Officers returned shots at Calderon and rescue the wounded woman. She remained at Baylor Medical Center in stable condition.
