A man has been accused of possessing a stolen gun and stealing cash from a federal judge in East Texas while on government property.
The Texarkana Gazette reported Joshua Ryan Dorman was being held Wednesday pending a pretrial hearing in November.
An indictment returned Aug. 27 and unsealed this week charges Dorman with possession of a stolen firearm and theft.
Prosecutors said Dorman secured a weapon July 28. Money was stolen from U.S. Magistrate Caroline Craven of Texarkana that same date. Further details weren't immediately available.
Dorman was arraigned last Friday and pleaded not guilty. A judge Monday granted a prosecution request that Dorman remain in custody pending his next court appearance.
Messages left with a prosecutor and a Dorman's attorney weren't immediately returned Wednesday.
