Man Accused of Scaling Texas State Capitol Scaffolding

A man has been arrested after the Texas Department of Public Safety said he was caught climbing on scaffolding outside the Texas State Capitol.

The Austin-American Statesman reported that 26-year-old Devin Tung Luu was found behind a chain link fence outside the building around 3 a.m. Saturday. According to an affidavit filed by the department, Luu was seen on camera scaling the scaffolding.

Luu has been charged with criminal trespass. His bond was set at $1,500 and he has since been released from jail.

It is unclear if Luu has an attorney.

The Capitol is currently undergoing an exterior preservation project, with windows, stone and other parts of the building being repaired.
