Jessica Simpson's New Baby Girl Named “Maxwell”

“We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received,” Simpson says

It’s a girl for Jessica Simpson.

Singer Jessica Simpson said on her website Tuesday that she and fiance Eric Johnson were “elated” to announce the birth of their daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson.

“We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received,” the "Fashion Star" mentor wrote. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives!”

The baby weighed in at 9 lbs., 13 oz. and was 21 ¾ inches long.

She was born in Los Angeles Tuesday morning, according to Us. Other reports noted that Maxwell is Johnson's middle name and his grandmother's maiden name. The baby's middle name, Drew, is Simpson's mother's maiden name, the New York Daily News reported.

Simpson, 31, and Johnson, a 32-year-old former San Francisco 49ers tight end and Yale grad, became engaged back in November 2010 after six months of dating.

The pair has both been married before. Simpson's ill-fated, three-year marriage to Nick Lachey was chronicled on the MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.”

Following their divorce in 2006, Lachey went on to tie the knot again with Vanessa Minnillo, who is now pregnant.

Before dating Eric Johnson, Simpson was romantically linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Johnson was married to stylist Keri Johnson for five years. Their divorce was finalized in October 2010 after having been legally separated for a year, according to People.
