Frisco police say burglars behind a break-in at a home near Legacy and Warren Parkway used pepper spray to scare their victims.

NBC 5 spoke to the family who says they were up late packing for an upcoming move when three masked men entered through an open garage door around 1 a.m. Thursday armed with what appeared to be squirt guns.

The mother of the family said she was in her master bedroom when she heard her husband yelling and screaming from the kitchen.

The masked men sprayed him in the face while they ran after her through the front door.

They quickly called for help while the burglars got away empty handed.

Concerned neighbors gathered Monday for a neighborhood watch meeting with police, who said they believe this was an isolated incident.

Still, police asked everyone to keep up their guard and said they have stepped up patrols in the area.
