The first round of the Dean and Deluca invitational experienced a weather delay of more than an hour due to lightning in the area.
When play resumed many area first responders were able to enjoy the golf for free at the new First Financial bank First Responders Retreat along the 17th fairway.
Among the 250 first responders and their families who received free tickets was injured Fort Worth police officer Matt Pearce.
Pearce said he was just interested in watching golf as he took his position along the railing.
The retreat provides officers, firefighters and EMTs with food and refreshments to thank them for their service.
