Fired Lubbock City Manager Gets $350,000 Severance

The ousted city manager of Lubbock is getting a severance package worth more than $350,000.

The Lubbock city council, after an executive session, unanimously approved the package Thursday for Lee Ann Dumbauld.

She was fired last month in a 4-3 council vote. No cause was given for her termination and council members told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (http://bit.ly/19RTjqw ) their legal counsel says they shouldn't discuss any reasons for her dismissal.

Mayor Glenn Robertson says the package settles all money owed to Dumbauld and releases both the city and her from any future actions.

Dumbauld took over as city manager in September 2005.

James Loomis, the former executive director at Lubbock's airport, has been named interim city manager. He says it could be six months before a permanent replacement is found.
