Mark the dates on your calendars: Winter break in the Fort Worth Independent School District will come a little later than usual for the next two years.
Trustees approved school calendars for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 years Tuesday night based on a survey of two options given to more than 6,000 parents, teachers, students and community members.
The district's next winter break will begin Dec. 23 and run through Jan. 6, 2017, with students returning four days later. The following winter break will begin Dec. 22, 2017, and run through Jan. 5, 2018.
The other calendar option had winter breaks beginning and ending earlier.
