A former member of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's platoon says he's angered by an Army officer's recommendation that Bergdahl face a lower-level court martial and be spared the possibility of jail time for leaving his post in Afghanistan.
Josh Korder, an ex-U.S. Army sergeant, said Sunday that Bergdahl should face life imprisonment because he holds the soldier responsible for several deaths that occurred after Bergdahl abandoned his post in 2009.
The Pentagon has said there's no evidence anyone died searching for Bergdahl.
Bergdahl was charged in March with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. He was freed in 2014 after five years in Taliban captivity.
Korder said other platoon members have long believed Bergdahl will not be properly punished for his actions.
A final decision on Bergdahl's case is still pending.
