A Dallas man was able to escape his burning business by breaking out a window to get out.

The fire started around 5 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Burlington Boulevard at Oak Cliff Electronics.

The owner lives inside his business and woke up to the flames. To get out, he broke out a window, then jumped outside. The man has cuts and bruises, but will be okay, according to fire crews.

Flames were shooting through the roof and side of the building when fire crews arrived. The building is heavily damaged.

Investigators are on scene to figure out what happened.

Police closed the southbound lanes of Hampton Road to give fire crews room to work.

The man said he was not insured.
