The Dallas Police Department released encouraging crime statistics this week.
According to the department, the city's crime rate continues to fall and is down 7 percent compared to the first five months of 2010.
All is not rosy however. While Dallas has seen big decreases in robbery and auto theft, murders are up 5 percent.
