Crime Rate Continues to Climb in Dallas

The Dallas crime rate continues to rise so far this year despite police efforts to reverse the spike.

Violent crime year to date as of Oct. 19 was up 10.5 percent, led by murder up 25.78 percent.

Overall including nonviolent property crimes, the rate is up 2.5 percent.

It comes after 11 straight years of falling crime rates in Dallas.

Police leaders will discuss it with members of the City Council Monday.
