Police officers in Garland are searching for the driver of a dark-colored pickup who eluded them during a short chase Tuesday morning.

Officials said the chase started after an attempted traffic stop along Garland Road where the driver of the truck refused to stop for police at about 10:30 a.m.

Officers chased the vehicle for awhile but the driver was able to elude the officers, police said.

Just after 11 a.m., several Garland officers had surrounded a pickup truck in the parking lot of Dallas Dodge Chrysler and Jeep. It is not yet known if this is connected to the chase.

Shortly after the chase began, Garland police were also made aware of a report of a driver going the wrong way on LBJ Freeway. Police have not yet said whether that report was connected to the chase.
