Chase Winds Through Grand Prairie, Dallas

Police arrested three people after a long chase through Grand Prairie and Dallas early Wednesday morning.

Grand Prairie police tried pulling the driver of a Lexus over on state Highway 161 near Arkansas Lane at about 3:10 a.m. The driver started speeding south toward Interstate 20, then headed north toward downtown Dallas.

The chase continued west on Interstate 30 and started heading down the wrong way on Chalk Hill Road. The vehicle stopped and three people inside tried to run away, though police were able to stop two of them.

An NBC 5 videographer was following the chase and pulled in behind a nearby shopping center. After spotting the third person, he was able to get the man to stop. The photographer watched the man for a few minutes until police could arrive.

The three face evading arrest charges, and may face other charges. Police have not yet said why the three were running.
