A 20-year-old man is in the Lewisville jail, accused of driving into a home moments after a traffic stop.

According to Lewisville police, the incident started at the corner of Catalina and Bellaire at 12:45 a.m. Police said Everette Alvarado, Jr. and another man were stopped at the intersection.  As an officer inquired about their activity, Alvarado drove off.

Minutes later, Lewisville Police received a call to 911 that a Dodge Intrepid crashed into a transformer box, cable box, brick wall and into a home.  Officers removed Alvarado from the vehicle and extinguished the fire after the crash.  He was treated for injuries.  Alvarado is now in the Lewisville City Jail.

Alvarado faces a charge of driving while intoxicated. No one inside the home was injured.
