Armed Serial Robber Wanted by Fort Worth Police

Suspect has robbed five businesses in two weeks

Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s assistance in getting an aggravated serial armed robbery suspect off the streets.

Since March 5, the masked gunman is described as a black male, five-feet, 10-inches tall, at least 250 pounds in his late 20s to early 30s.

In one of the robberies, an accomplice joins him. That suspect is described as a black male, also in his late 20s to early 30s, six-feet, two-inches to six-feet, three-inches tall with a medium build.

Both suspects are wearing ski masks during the robbery of a convenience store on March 8 along Miller Avenue in east Fort Worth.

During that robbery, the main suspect freely points his weapon at a clerk and pistol whips at one point when he’s not satisfied with what the clerk is telling him.

The accomplice holds a gun to the back of a female customer, while a male customer can be seen at the counter with his hands up. At one point, two men enter the store, interrupting the robbery and are also held at gun point until the men leave.

The heavier suspect can be seen in surveillance video at several other locations, as well. His appearance is one that robbery detectives believe someone will recognize and come forward.

“Someone is going to recognize this person’s build, the way he moves, his mannerisms, even the clothes that he’s wearing and will call in with any suspicions that they have,” said Det. Brian Raynsford.

The gunmen is also suspected of robbing a GameStop on East Berry Street, a Family Dollar on McCart Avenue, a Subway on East Loop 820 and another GameStop on Clifford Center Drive.

That last GameStop robbery is where the suspect was seen leaving in a red or maroon four-door sedan similar to an older model Mercury Cougar.

Police are worried about the actions of these robberies, because they so freely use gestures with their weapons, have shown that propensity to violence and appear to know what they’re doing.

“The potential for violence increases with each weapon present, each one of these guys has a gun, that doubles our possibility of having a violent end to this situation,” Det. Raynsford said. “We’re hoping that we can avoid that.”

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Fort Worth police. Tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers, where a reward is possible.
