American Airlines Halfway Done Repainting Old Fleet in New Colors

Nearly 21/2 years after it began the task, American Airlines Inc. has reached the halfway point in repainting the old American and US Airways airplanes with the new paint job and livery adopted in early 2013.

In an employee publication, Fort Worth-based American said it expects the last of its mainline fleet will be repainted in the new livery by fourth quarter 2017. The last to get the new paint will be from the Boeing 737-800 fleet.
