The Daughters of the Republic of Texas want two members who spoke out about the group's Alamo management and fundraising expelled.
Erin Bowman and Dianne MacDiarmid formed a new group to fundraise for the famous Texas battle site. They want the 18th century mission in San Antonio to run more like a modern museum with national accreditation and a business plan.
But the DRT leadership says the group has been running the Alamo just fine for more than a century and doesn't see the need for major changes.
Bowman and MacDiarmid have been sent expulsion letters by the DRT.
They plan to fight it.
