Dallas police say a person has been detained following reports of shots fired Monday afternoon near Mountain View College.

The shots were reported to have come from a wooded area north of the campus, according to a tweet from Maj. Max Geron, with the Dallas Police Department.

Mountain View College is near Spur 408 between Interstate 30 and Interstate 20, south of downtown, near the intersection of Kenneland Parkway and Duncanville Road.

Further information on the person who was detained has not yet been released.

A helicopter from the Texas Department of Public Safety assisted in the aerial search near the campus, because the Dallas Police Department's Air 1 helicopter was responding to an active shooter call at the same time near North Forty Place and Frankford Road in Far North Dallas.

There have been no reported injuries in either incident.
