14th Earthquake Reported in Irving

Two earthquakes struck Irving on Friday.

The first quake struck three miles northeast of Irving and five miles south of Farmers Branch at 10:38 a.m. The epicenter was detected at a depth of 3 km. The magnitude registered 2.4.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the second tremblor was a magnitude 2.4 earthquake near state Highway 183 and Loop 12 at 11:08 p.m. The epicenter was 1.7 km.

These are the 13th and 14th quakes in less than two months to shake the city. 

The earthquake is the 14th registered in Irving and the 15th in North Texas since Oct. 28. A Google map showing the quake locations is embedded below.
