2 Fires Set at Fort Worth High School

Authorities said someone set two fires at a Fort Worth high school early Friday morning.

Fort Worth Independent School District officials said someone set fire to a riding lawnmower outside the school before dawn Friday. The person then went into the building and started another fire in the basement, which is used for freshman classes.

Neither fire caused structural damage to the school, but officials said the fire in the basement left soot that needed to be cleaned.

A cafeteria in the same part of the building has already been cleared to return to normal service.

School remains in session, according to district officials, but some freshman classes will be moved.
