2 Dead, 1 Missing as Boats Collide on Lake Conroe

A second boater has died following a collision between two vessels on a Houston-area lake in an accident that also left a person missing and seven people hurt.

The search for the missing woman resumed Wednesday at Lake Conroe where a pleasure boat and a bass fishing boat collided.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused Tuesday night's accident that initially left a woman dead. The Montgomery County Constable's Office says a 9-year-old boy died Wednesday at a hospital.

Officials say the pleasure boat carried eight people, including the two people who died, the missing woman and five others who were taken to hospitals. Two men in the fishing boat have minor injuries.

Names of the victims weren't immediately released.

Authorities do not believe alcohol was involved in the accident.
