1 Killed, 1 Arrested After Crash on Interstate 35E: Lewisville Police

The driver of an SUV that crashed on Interstate 35E, killing a man in Lewisville Sunday night has been arrested, police say. [[383598871,C]]

Lewisville police said they responded to a major crash in the 2000 block of northbound South I-35E at 8:45 p.m.

Responding officers found two men inside a Ford Explorer that had tipped onto its side. Police said the driver sustained minor injuries and the passenger was deceased still in the car.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was being driven recklessly and went onto the left shoulder, striking the concrete barrier.

Investigators said the driver — later identified as Nelson Paz — was intoxicated and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The passenger has not yet been identified.
