Winter weather caused airlines to cancel thousands of flights around the country over the weekend and left many passengers frustrated.
“I was supposed to leave at 3 p.m. Friday,” said Amy Dittman. “Now I’ve had five flights canceled.”
Dittman is not alone. Countless passengers have similar stories.
“I’ve had five canceled trips,” said Elaine Walker. “I’ve been put on standby and haven't been able to get on those flights.”
Over the weekend, American Airlines canceled about 2,000 flights around the country, Southwest 500 and Delta more than 100, all due to the weather.
Lines of luggage sat waiting at baggage claim for their owners to claim them at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
