Lexus Navigation System Error Affects Vehicles Nationwide

Own a 2014, 2015 or 2016 Lexus or a 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser with radio, BlueTooth, climate control and navigation issues?

You are not alone.

According to @Lexus, the official Twitter account for the Torrence California carmaker, an "errant data broadcast" by the vehicles' traffic and weather data service provider was not handled as expected by the microcomputer in the vehicle navigation head unit or center display of 2014-2016 model year Lexus vehicles.

That broadcast caused the head unit to restart repeatedly, affecting the operation of the navigation system, audio and climate control features, as well as the hands-free mobile phone functions.

The data suspected to be the source of the error was corrected Tuesday.

To correct the problem, Lexus is directing owners to visit a Lexus dealer for a complimentary system reset and confirmation of the system. Until then, owners of affected vehicles are instructed to exercise additional caution when driving.
