Dallas Teen's Bar Mitzvah Dance Goes Viral

Video of bar mitzvah gets more than 400,000 views on YouTube

A Dallas teen's coming of age event has come into the spotlight.

Video footage from 13-year-old Sam Horowitz's bar mitzvah has gone viral, being seen on NBC's "Today" show, local newscasts and amassing over 400,000 views on YouTube.

The video shows Horowitz descending from the ceiling inside a chandelier toward a stage at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. Once on the ground, the chandelier lifts and Horowitz is revealed.  He then performs a choreographed number to Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again," flanked by more than a half-dozen dancers.

“When I was seven I went to a concert and the singer [and] some performers came out of a chandelier,” Horowitz told TV station KHOU. “And I said, 'Oh my God, that’s what I want to do.' I’m so fortunate to be able to do things like that and it was definitely the best day of my life.”

Horowitz appears around 1:00 into the video.

The teen said he rehearsed the routine for three hours every weekend for a month before the Nov. 2012 event.

Horowitz's mother said that wasn't the only hard work her son put in -- he also raised money for underprivileged children in Israel at part of his coming of age ritual.
