Can Americans pick better winners than David Hasselhoff?

As expected, David Hasselhoff is returning to TV – and bringing his family.

The former "America's Got Talent" judge's latest small screen effort is a documentary series about himself and his daughters on A&E. The network has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the reality show, which will focus on the Hoff's real-life role as a single dad with daughters Taylor-Ann, 19, and Hayley, 17.

The show will document the sisters' goals of becoming professional singers.

"It's the dream of every parent to be able to help their children succeed," David said in a statement. "I told the girls that I would help them open the door when they are ready, but they would have to walk through it on their own. This is their time and I am excited to be a part of it by partnering with A&E and FremantleMedia on this new series."

FremantleMedia, which produces "American Idol," is handling the new show, which is currently untitled. It will debut later this year.

The star announced in January that he would be leaving his hosting gig for his own show. Former "Deal or No Deal" host Howie Mandel will replace him at the judges' table alongside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne.
