Chrissy Metz this week revealed that her character in the NBC drama “This Is Us” will be losing weight — and so will she, in real life.

"In our contract, it did state that that would be a part of it, to lose the weight in the trajectory of the character as she comes to find herself,” the actress told TVLine.

Metz reportedly said she didn’t mind the contract, saying, "That was a win-win for me. Because it’s one thing to try to do it on your own. But as human beings, it’s an ego thing: We’re more likely to do something for someone else."

Earlier this year, Metz gave an interview to the "Today" show, in which she talked about her "journey to stardom as a plus-size woman." Metz said she doesn’t find her value in her body or weight.

“It’s really about who I am and what I can offer as a human being to the people in my life, and to the world," she said. "As corny as that might sound we’re so much more than that."
