Wash Remains Confident In Feldman

After Thursday, Scott Feldman is 0-6 on the year with a 6.50 ERA

In a post earlier today, our Adam Boedeker suggested that the Rangers’ have most likely seen enough of Scott Feldman as a starter. It’s not hard to see why one would think as much: With a five inning, six run (four earned) performance against Arizona on Thursday, Feldman is 0-6 on the year with a 6.50 ERA.

But Ron Washington remains confident in Feldman, for whatever reason.

“We still have confidence in him. I don't lose confidence in my players,” Washington said, per the Dallas Morning News. "We made some mistakes behind him, but when they make mistakes you've got to get outs.”

Of course, this is just Wash being Wash. He is perhaps the most unwaveringly faithful manager in all of baseball. But after watching Thursday’s game, we just hope that there’s a difference between Wash being confident in Feldman, and Wash trotting Feldman out as a starter any time in the near future.
