Ron Washington in 2015: Gone, But Not Forgotten

Ron Washington may be gone. But his presence over the Rangers will remain.

As new manager Jeff Banister has assembled his coaching staff for 2015, there are a couple familiar faces from the previous regime.

On Banister’s staff will be pitching coach Mike Maddux, hitting coach Dave Magadan, assistant hitting coach Bobby Jones and bullpen coach Andy Hawkins, who all served their roles in 2014 for Washington. The staff probably would’ve included the return of third-base/outfield coach Gary Pettis, but he left for a similar role with the Houston Astros during the Rangers’ search for a new manager.

Probably good that all ties to Washington aren’t erased, as the Rangers like to fancy themselves as a team’s that regrouping rather than rebuilding.
