Rangers' Washington Not Worried About Contract

Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington says he isn't worried that his contract hasn't yet been extended past the upcoming season.

Washington is the team's winningest manager with 611 wins over his seven seasons, and took Texas to its only two World Series in 2010 and 2011.

The Rangers last extended Washington's contract in January 2012, when they added two years through 2014.

While general manager Jon Daniels wouldn't discuss a possible extension Tuesday, he said Washington has been a huge part of the Rangers' success and the GM expects that "to continue going forward."

The Rangers won 91 games last season, but missed the playoffs for the first time in four years after losing the AL wild-card tiebreaker game.
