Kirkman Called Up From Round Rock

Michael Kirkman is back with the Rangers, getting the call-up from Triple-A Round Rock today, taking the place of Colby Lewis on the roster.

Lewis is on the paternity leave list after his wife, Jenny, gave birth to the couple’s second child. Elizabeth Grace was born on Wednesday in Bakersfield, Calif.

A player can be on the Paternity Leave List for a maximum of three days, so Lewis is expected to be reinstated to the active roster on Monday.

Kirkman is 0-1, 16.20 (12 ER/6.2 IP) in two starts with Round Rock this season. He spent the final six weeks of 2010 with Texas, posting a 1.65 ERA in 14 relief appearances, his first major league action.

Lewis is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Angels at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
